If your status above has changed, please let me know. If you have a spot available please either PM me or preferably post up here.

As far as I know, we still have at least a couple folks looking for a ride on this, BrokenString and H2OHazard. If you’re looking for a ride please post up and we’ll see what we can do.

I currently have 5 committed crew - some of them should be committed I can squeeze one more aboard in a pinch. I’ve already offered that spot to BrokenString. If anyone on my boat cancels out, I’ll be happy to take another.

We’re working on some door prizes for Saturday's Fish Fry/Weigh-In, more info to come soon.

By the way, if anyone is interested in seeing the currnet (erie) lake condition you can log onto www.brestbaymarina.com and check out their lakecam. Definately helps if you are coming from any distance.
Best,

I am proud to help sponser this great event. I am sure everyone will be happy with the prizes.

I have a problem though. My boat will be docked in Port Austin that weekend. So if anyone would need a rider to help with the cost I would be looking.

Thanks again
Roy Bishop

Update:

I would like to personally thank Roy for his sponsorship of the 2008 Smackdown. Thank you for your support Roy, and I look forward to meeting you!

Secondly, I spoke with the manager at the Comfort Inn at Monroe this morning. His name is Anis, and I was able to block off 20 rooms for the Smackdown under the Educated Angler name. When you call to reserve, tell them that you are coming with the Educated Angler group, and then you will have to provide your personal information for billing purposes. The room rate is $55.00 per night, double occupancy, non-smoking rooms.

Here is the number to call...

734-384-1500

The hotel is located just West of I-75 at exit 11 (La Plaisance Road) on the south side of the road. We stayed at this place last year and it was nice. They have an indoor pool as well.

In talking with the manager, I "guessed" at the number of rooms that we will be needing. Please post up your total room #'s needed so that I can get back to him by the end of this week or at the latest next Monday to give him a solid number. If I recall, we took up 11 rooms last year.

They seem more than happy to have us back in 2008. Time is getting close guys and gals...get your reservations in this week if possible. The rooms are blocked from the 5th through the 7th. If you need different dates, be sure to indicate that when you call.

Don't hesitate to email me or call me should you have questions.

Please make your reservations as soon as possible. There are plenty of rooms available, but they are not blocked off anymore. Contact BFG for more details if needed.

Okay, the SeaCat is now a definite for the 2008 Smack-Down. Work is going to interfere a little so won't be arriving until Friday night, but plan on fishing both Saturday and Sunday.

Called the Comfort Inn and got reservations for Friday and Saturday nights. I referenced the "Educated Angler" group and they found it and signed me up.

Right now I have only myself and one other on the boat so I have a couple spots available if anyone needs a ride. Email me at SeaCatMich@comcast.net if interested.

Also, I have another outing the following weekend (6/12-15). Not a whole lot of point in dragging the boat back to Lansing and then turn around and bring it back on Wednesday. Anyone know a good safe place that I can leave the boat and trailer? Costs? Contact ph#?

Ryan

We ought to try to get Grey Goose as a sponsor. Anybody have a lead on them?

I'll second the Grey Goose , then if we can get a lemonade sponsor we would be all set , right Paul.

Ryan , I think they have storage right there at Toledo Beach Marina if you need to , give them a call and find out.
