I am having a cooling problem.i am getting water in the engine but there is a blockage where the water exits the engine. The blockage cause the system to pressurize i had a hose blow up because water isnt exiting the system. Is this a common problem? Is there a easy way to trouble shoot whats happening? thank you.

First we need more info
Is it a closed or raw water cooling system?
What hose and under what operating situation did the hose blow off?

Water exits the motor and mixes with the exhaust in the exhaust elbows although its common for these to plug up in salt water it is not a common problem around here
This is a guess but if the motor has been over heated and the flapper valves have melted off and lodged them self’s in the exhaust Y pipe this would be a more common scenario in how you could build up enough back pressure to blow off or burst a hose

The boat was originally used in salt water. It is a raw water cooling system. I was running the engine at 30,000 rpm hoping that i could build up enough pressure to push out the debre that is causeing the blockage. But by doing that i built up enough pressure to blow a hole in a 3" hose. Last year i replaced the empeller and i couldnt find all the peices i am thinking that it worked its way through out the lines.

riser elbows are probably pluged
try pulling them off and take them to the local radiator shop they should be able to boil them out
salt water exhaust manifolds are usally only good for 4 or five years then they need replacing
you may still end up puting some new ones on there to correct the problem but try cleaning them first
