After the boats were empty of water we headed out around 8am. Went to the first shelf off of Grindstone and picked up 8 lakers that were 8-10 pounds. Then headed out 180 fow to a big sand flat to search. Got 2 kings about 10lbs and three steelies about 6lbs. Weird thing was no lakers on the sand. Lost a few other silver fish too.

Afternoon: Headed out around 3pm and went right to the sand. Picked up a small king right away. Then a couple lakers. Headed to the shelf again and picked up 7 lakers then back to the sand around 7pm. Set up a program for silver fish and caught 5 kings to 12lbs and two more steelies about 8 lbs. Lost more silver fish too. This was the best king fishing I have seen in 5 years up here. All fish were healthy and full of gobies or smelt.

Best lures were Flintstone Jellybean and Silver streak blue dolphin, green dolphin, and glow screwball. For the lakers any flasher near the bottom with a white fly

Glad to see some Kings up there! Hope it's a sign of things to come for all of Lake Huron. Lexington and Sanilac aren't what they used to be. Neither is Rockport or Oscoda. I've loved fishing the Nordmeer!

This spring in Lexington and Harbor Beach was great. Lots of kings and coho. I hope it only gets better.

Hey Lance

Kings were down 70 - 90 feet over 180fow. We were on the sand flat.

There were some big marks on the bottom but we couldnt get them to bite. I dont know if they were lakers or kings resting but we had no problem catching lakers anywhere else. Lots of bait to mostly smelt.

Do you think you guys are going to be able to come up this weekend?

From what I have been told the fishing has slowed lately. I will have a better report on Friday when we fish. Good luck to all in the tourny this weekend.
