I assume that the article mentioned in the Subject line, from the Milwaukee Journal, is a recent. I have been wondering what is happening with the barrier.

I skimmed the article and it sounds like they are still struggling on funding for the barrier. I think this barrier is critical (assuming and praying that it will perform as advertised). Maybe we should be writing Great Lakes congressmen about this one.

It's a recent article - but I'm confused becasue I heard at SeaGrant that it is funded.

The last I heard is that the funding to complete and test the barrier is there but no word on who was going to pay to operate and maintain it . Sounds like something the Federal Gov. would do , build a multimillion dollar project and then let it sit idle because they didn't fund it's operation. Should all work out though , I hope.
