Perch are Biting on West End

Last Sunday, we went straight out from Boles Harbor just short of the Ohio state line and north of the dumping grounds in about 19 ft. Three of us got about 40 perch for the afternoon--not a lot, but decent size. They were biting slow and light, but never stopped. We saw a lot of boats trolling and drifting for walleye, but we never saw any landed. The chatter on the radio also indicated that walleye were hard to find.

Also saw large flocks of cormorants flying by just above the surface of the water. I've never seen so many. I read that they are taking over West Sister Island and driving off the herons and egrets.

Mmmm? What did happen to that bag of perch? Let's see: 40 perch/3 fishermen = 13/fisherman with 1 left over. Mmm? Musta et the left over.

When the bucket gets fuller, I'm usre a bag or two will reach you through the supply chain.
