Anyone still using these? I snapped up 3 at Gander Mountain's "bargin bin". They were the same as the ones hanging on the shelf - only $3 less - go figure.

They seemed to be the "in thing" 10 years ago but somehow lost favor - I wonder why?

Had a charter skipper and his mate, friends, ask me if I was using them and I said that I did but very little. Well they gave me all sorts of hints and I guess I had better keep one handy. they swear by them. They mate is coming up from Sheboygan to fish with me for a day this spring and is going to tutor me. Claims they're the cats moew !

Couple weeks ago Dumper Dan (A Sheboygan Charter boat Capt, he run a fleet of three boats) Gave a seminar at Gander Mtn on just this subject.

Dan keeps his info pretty close and I was surprised at how much he presented at the seminar.

He's big on body baits off boards in tight to the boat during harbor patrol. He also runs them off slide divers. Seemed as if 30 to 50 feet behind both the slide diver and behind the board was a common distance. The pictures he showed were of the standard colors, Blues, blacks ect for out deep and loud colors for his harbor patrol program. By loud I mean, Chart, orange, green, firetiger patterns. One was a Daves Kaboom orange, pink and yellow ugly as can be.

As can be expected he talked about running the mudline and water temps but he seemed to be a big beliver in body baits in close.

What I find interesting is that Gerry Young gave a similar talk about using body baits all off lead core. Of course not during harbor patrol, but he's a big beliver in Bombers off core for Kings.

I'm going to give it a try, I think just about anything off core will catch fish.

Tim
