hey
I appreciate you responding to my question. now i am going to answer yours. i am not sure what the terms you used mean, i know that that sounds really stupid, what i usually use is a worm or lizard on a weedless hook. When i reel in i do it slow and then jerk different directions softley every once and a while. I have tried catching sunfish but i never can so i dont think they are eating that. If you could give me and idea on how to figure out what they are eating that would be cool. Again i am really inexperienced but i love the thrill when you get a bass on the hook. again i appreciate your help thanks.

It sounds like you are texas rigging - it can be done with or without a weight and that weight can be pegged to the worm head or a sliding bullet weight. This is a very versatile technique and is typically fished in heavy cover or wood where weedless fishing is essential.

These are some form of Texas-rigs

Does this look like what you use typically? Are you fishing water that is very weedy or woody? Are you fishing from the shore or a boat?

hey yeah that is pretty much what i am doing. There are several spots in the water where there are pegs coming up out of the water. other than that the water is pretty much free of grass or tree stumps. um i thought about something the other day, back when we first moved here my brother used to catch crawdads out there right of the shore and in little ditches that run off of the lake is it possible that the bass would be eating them, and if so could i use some crawfish lures of some sort. thanks.

I see you changed your ID could have changed your user name for your old account by goign to the user details section.

Absolutely the bass will feed on crawdads, as a matter of fact they're a very desirable meal for a bass ... you should defintely got after them with a creature bait (crawfish imitation) and you want to mimic a crawdad as much as possible. This means that more than likely (but not always) you want to have a noise producing weight - something with a rattle in it. You also want to mimic there movements - quick darting then resting, bounce of the bottom much like the way a crawfish moves - watch one in the pond.

There a couple schools of thought on what constitutes the best crawfish replica - some say it is just the overall shape and have had great success with baits with all of the appendages removed leaving just the body. The other school believes in a close reproduction claws, antennae, the whole nine yards. I would start there and then remove parts until you produce a productive pattern.

Best of luck

yeah sorry i changed my name but my computer logged me out and i have a bad memory and forgot my sn.

I appreciate the advice, now could you recomend a good artifical bait company who makes crawfish. If so that would be great. I also read something on fish shelters i was wondering if those poles coming out of the water could be fish shelters. if they are would that be a good place to throw the line.thanks.
