I would like to get the boat to plane out a little quicker.Boat is 22'glass cuddy 5.8 I/O.It has an aluminum 17x14.5 on it also came with a 19 X14.5 Stainless. When you give it the power it stays at about 3100-3500 rpm until it gets up on plane then will go higher if you let it.After it planes out at 3500 rpm speed is around 28-30 mph.would putting the Stainless prop help or hurt?

Do you have a foil on the outdrive? They make a big difference in a boat's ability to get up on plane. If you don't have one I'd seriously check into installing one.

A STAINLESS PROP OF THE SAME PITCH WOULD BE MUCH BETER BUT THE TWO YOU HAVE THERE ARE ABOUT EQUAL IN THE GETING UP ON PLANE CATAGORY THE STAINLESS SHOULD END UP WITH A LITTLE MORE TOP END .THE LOWER THE PITCH THE FASTER YOU WILL COME UP ON PLANE . THE BIG DIFERENCE BETWEEN STAINLESS AND ALUMINUM IS THE THICKNESS OF THE BLADE . THE ALUMINUM HAS TO BE THICKER IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BLADE TO ADD STRENGTH THIS IS WHY YOU GET BETER PERFORMANCE FROM STAINLESS THE STAINLESS BLADE IS ONE QUATER AS THICK IN THE MIDDLE AND YOU ARE NOT USING THE EXTRA POWETR TO TURN THE THICKER BLADE THROUGH THE WATER .
ONE BIG DISADVANTAGE OF STAINLESS PROPS IS IF YOU HIT SOME THING WITH THE PROP YOU ARE TEN TIMES MORE LIKELY TO BREAK THE GEARS INSIDE INSTEAD OF TEARING UP YOUR PROP OR BOTH
