Lake Erie was noticeably higher this past season (2005) where my friends and I normally fish. 2003 was a nightmare....nothing like having 12" of water under you in the channel with mud and sludge boiling up behind the outboard....

Then again, most folks don't realize the problems that we have on a day to day basis with West winds here....
