I just got four Penn 330GTI's to use for leadcore. I'd like to get some input on good rods to use with them. We have some Shimano Taloras, and they are great, but I need to find something less expensive. We've also had pretty good luck with Shimano TDRs and they are pretty inexpensive. Anybody have any other suggestions?

Tom,

Although this does not provide you additional alternatives, I will throw in my vote for the TDR's. I run the 9'6 , 1953, for all my cores other that 2 3 colors. I think they are a great rod for the $$$, and like the length of the rod to control the board. For my shorter cores, I run the 8'0 medium action TDR, the 1802. My $0.02.

I run mine on the Daiwa Heartlands. They can be had for less than $30 each.

9' cabelas diver rods. Awesome lead core rods, cheap too. We have been running RP2 custom built lead core rods and they are the bomb. They cost alot more though.

Although I dont own any Tom, the Yad roller rods can be had for pretty cheap. I also have not used roller rods for core, but some guys swear by them. Worth a consideration.

Roller rods for core? I've never heard of that. Anyone got any experience with this?
