I am thinking of changing my roller tips on my wire rod to the swivel ones. Does any one know of an internet source for them?
I also would like your thoughts on them.

Thank you all.

Thank you guys for your help.

At this time I do not know if I am going to go throught with this. I love my wire rods but they only cost me $30 a piece and to put a $37 tip on it does not seam to practicle. Particularly when I only get to the big lake once or twice a year for now. Maybe if or when I move closer to the lake I will pick up a more expensive rod with a swivel tip on it already.

The wire dipsy was my best set up this spring at the Niagra Bar.

With a little diligence to proper rod position in the holders, the swivel tip is totally unnecessary.

Jim,

I reely do not have a problem with it but I pay a little more attention to it than my father and his friend. Have not had an issue with it though, just thought it would be nice to have but not at all necessary as you stated. My father actualy did not like the wire rigs till this last trip when they caught all our bigger fish but one.

I'm currently using twilly tips. Does the roller prevent "pigtailing" of the wire?

No they don't. I'm not sure anything will prevent it but keeping your wire tight at all times will help a little. As long as it isn't kinked a little pig-tailing doesn't hurt anything but it is a simple matter to lop off a foot of wire and retie now and then.

Wire will always do that regardless of the tip or rollers - as Jim suggests if it gets bad trim some off and retie.
