I learned a similar lesson in a college golf tournament. My playing partner for the day kept my official score. I also kept my score on another card. When finished, he said..."Clark, I have you for 70, correct?" That is what I had shot....

I signed the back of the card, and didn't even look at the totals or hole by hole record. Come to find out, he actually had me for 71, and I had signed an incorrect scorecard, and I was DQ'd from the tournament.

I would have been medalist that day.


Lesson learned....have an idea what your fish weigh before hitting the line.
