I received a few to test out last year and only ran them twice to be honest. Both days I ran them we had 60 temps top to bottom and fishing was tough.
They do have a unique action..and they definitely keep the rod bouncing up and down. It takes a little gettting used to. The only problem we had was getting them to release to get them back in. After talking to the guy that made them via e-mail he solved that problem for us.
I have not seen the new models that are supposed to be directional. Which would make them more like a Dipsey.
In my humble opinion the only thing they had over a dipsey was the action was differnt and the added flasher. The model I had was non-directional so we ran ours as an out down.
So to sum it up I think the have a time and place. They are staying on the boat unlike some of the stuff I have tried over the years. Do I see myself running them alot...probaly not..but like anything else if it gets Hot and starts taking fish it will get more water time.
