Ryan, I have had great luck with cow bells for lakers. I use the 3/3/3 rule.
Attatch the release 3' above the ball, cow bells 3' behind the release and I use U20 size flat fish 3' behind the bells.
This set up has been DEADLY for me when bouncing bottom for lakers.
I have big jon riggers (flexable arms) I drop the ball down till I touch bottom, bring the ball up off the bottom a few inches then work the rigger arm by pushing down on it, bouncing the ball on bottom.
A lot of work but super productive.
