Took the day off yesterday and accepted an invite from my Dad and his good friend George to go perch jerkin'. Launched out of Turtle Creek and motored through the NE blow slop out to "A" can. Spent about 30 minutes there with one lone perch and a few white perch. Made the move East to "B" can and had action immediately.

We ended up keeping 41 perch for the trip, but those 41 weighed 13.75# prior to meeting the knife. Didn't keep any under 8" or so. We probably caught well over 200 fish, but most were under-sized.

It was pretty much non-stop action for me, and I was only using a single hook about 4" above the 1oz. bell sinker. I purchased some size 6 Gamakatsu "panfish" hooks at Cabelas the other night on a tip from a guy here at work...and they really worked great, especially the red ones.

Planning on getting out a few more times...
