I have a smaller boat with a manually controlled throttle on my kicker. For that reason I have flush mounted it in the rear of my boat so I can see the readout when adjusting the speed and setting riggers. I cut a hole in the side panel below the gunnel with a roto-zip. Do use the coated cable also.
