electric window defoggers

SO i have been watching Deadliest catch all day and on the windshields of the boats they have electric defoggers that tape to the windows like on the backs of most cars. I went on to the chat on discovery adn got an answer back from one of the guys on the ships. He said witou them there windows would be constantly frozen up.

So my thoughts on this is will it work on a salmon boat with a rag top. And where i might be able to get one if you guys think it might work. I hate morning dew and if this waould work i want to try it. I have been doing some searching on the net but have not come up with anything yet.

So if anyone has any ideas let me here them. I have already tried the little ceramic heaters that they sell to no avail.any ideas????????
