We were finally able to make the trip over to Kenosha for the long weekend. We left on Friday around 00:30 so that we could arrive in time to fish that morning. Long drive, took some turns driving and finally arrived.

We were greeted by some hella SE winds with a constant 4ft swell and some occasional 6's in the mix. Only fished for 2 hours and went 2 for 6. Had alot of hook ups but couldnt keep them on for some reason. Could have been the boat surging I reckon. Both were steelies, one on a DR and one on a slide diver. Could not fish the evening shift due to some Tornado's and what not.

On Sat we decided to follow out a local charter captn'. Had to run by radar the entire time, but it was cool to actually use it! Started out south and only pulled one so we turned N to where we did ok the night before. Ended the day 8 for 15 I think. Both Coho's and Steelies in the mix. A slide diver with a little spin doctor fly combo did well all weekend for us (Todd's special). Also lead core did ok as well. Once again, could not fish at night due to the hella storms.

Sunday we went out to where we were the day before and did well. 15 for 20 in 5 hours of fishing. Everything worked pretty well, with that one slide diver do really well, and the riggers actually had a double on, one on the slider and one on the main. Only were able to bring the main one in however.

We made a few friends over the radio (local charter guys) and in Sunday we were the first boat in the area and actually gave a few charter guys our info and got a few thanks. Afterwards one came up and gave us his card and said to call ahead next year and he will give us some starting info so we don’t go out blind again.

Stayed with my Grandma and got super fat. She is full Italian and loves to cook. So room and board were free along with the majority of the meals.

Overall it was a good trip and think we plan to do it again next year. The fish aren’t very big compared to Frankfurt, but it is still fun and only cost around 100 bucks per guy (at current fuel rates), so not bad. The facilities are excellent - awesome guarded marina with locked access, sweet fish cleaning station with a huge macerator - just throw your guts in the middle of it. Just wish the weather was abit nicer.

Thanks to Keith for the help and equiptment leading up to the trip.

Here are some pics
