We were in a bragging rights tourney on saturday and it was a bit slow. We didnt like the looks of the mud, so we ran deeper to get our 5 fish to weigh. We had 5 fish in the 100-130 range by 930, then pulled and finished up in the mud only taking one more fish for an upgrade. We are not bragging, as we got smoked by the one boat that stayed in the mud all day. He pulled his fish out of the channel and pier head area. Overall, there are plenty of fish in the 100-130 range, but the bite is on and off. We fished there saturday afternoon and wandered out to 220 and back into 130 near dark when the feeding frenzy occured and we pulled 6 fish in 20 minutes right were we couldnt catch a fish 2 hours earlier. We finished with 11 sarurday afternoon, but 6 were steelhead, 4 kings and a laker and half the catch came in the last half hour while we pulled lines in the dark. I went to the same spot sunday morning and was 6 for 8 and half again were steelhead. Timing is key evidentally.
