I found it interesting that river steelheaders are tying sardines in spawn sacs. It makes perfect sense, it's just something I'd have probably never thought of trying. It got me thinking (hush Rick ) is there some way to incorporate sardines into trolling techniques? I know that they are too mushy to be of any use in a cut bait rig but what if you tied a small sac above a spoon, to a dodger/flasher or even inside the body of a fly. It might even work in place of a fly but I'd still prefer the profile that the fly has in the water.

Oh wingnut I like that idea ... goes in line with JALs article about scents; Salmon and Steelhead have a keen sense of smell. Hmmm trailers on flys I like that a bunch.

Jim , Greg , - Bob { Big Papa } and I were discussing that a while ago and he is working on an idea , I'll let you know when he gets it completed and see if it has a place for our application. Hopefully it will work and we'll be able to add more to the cooler.
