Any problems with the rod tips dipping under the waves occasionally? At the E.A. outing this past weekend, when I had my dipsy rod(s) in the inside dipsy rod holder (horizontal to the water), I was dipping them under the biggest waves. Made me a little uncomfortable so I moved the rods up to the outside dipsy position (slightly higher angle up from horizontal, no more tip dippin'.

Should I ignore this or is it possible to loose a rod/reel and everything attached? Any suggestions?

Mike, this last weekend for Brew City Tourny my inside wire dypsy rod was 1/2 to 3/4 under water most of the day... When you heard a drag screaming but couldn't see a rod bend you knew where it was.

With the boat in forward motion, the water running over the rod should only be locking it in the holder. As long as you have good sturdy holders, and if you are fishing salmon you should, i see no problems. I like my inside diver right down there close to the water and like Reid said, they tend to spend most of the time under water some days.

You can actually get your wire rod tips to go in the water off that Vector Quad holder Mike??

Thanks guys.

Clark, I was fishing braid dipsys at Ludington. Didn't want to fool with the wire solo. Rods were 9'6" (I think) heartlands. The Vector holders will lay down horizontal to the water. BTW, they are te 5 tube versions, which I don't see on their web site anymore.

Sounds like fun Reid.
