We had good luck on Sag Bay using a small spoon (like a stinger scorpion) which had a two hook harness on the read with a small bead chain - my partner thought he bought them a Frank's in Linwood. Stopped there but they no longer had any. He thought the might be "Capt. Bills"???? Anyone had a clue where I can get some of these???

Can you describe it a little better??

Not tracking here...was it a spoon with a trailer hook??

I use a set up like that on Erie. I take a spoon without a hook and attach it to a swivel to the main line and then attach a harness to the back side of the spoon with another swivel. You can either run them with snap weights or inline weights to get them down.
They are a great set up for the Michigan waters of Erie during stained to dirty water times.

Capt. Dwayne...

So in theory, that setup would sort of resemble a miniature flasher and fly/spoon combo?

Interesting that you say they work well in stained water...has to be the thump of the hookless spoon that adds the attraction, eh? Do you try to match the spoon pattern to that of the blade on the harness?

Yet another reason to continue to try to get a program going with the mini-Spin Docs and 000 dodgers w/ spoons or harnesses on Erie for the walleyes.

Maybe some are already doing it, but if they are, they aren't talking about it!!

LOL

i'm not sure if these are what you are talking about or not but these work very well. have even caught a good number of steelies and pinks off these. 'Cotton candy' worked the best for me last year. along with any of the purple or pink 1's.

We have used the rig a couple times with some success...We have used this rig with Dipsys and Jet 40s. The spoons seem to out perform the meat rig, so it gets pulled out of the water pretty quickly.
Is this what you are talking about? Its a bad pic, I know...

Last year i pre-fished with my nephew for the FLW tourny out of Boles. We did pretty good pulling a spinner 5 to 6 ft behind one of the little E-chip flasher. It worked in Saginaw bay as well.
