I'm using Cabela's Innerflow rods and Ande mono with good success. Has anyone used them with braided or lead core?

I use the Diawa Interline rods for the braided dipsy and they work great. The lead core line is to thick and the connection knots won't go through. You'll have to use a regular rod for lead core or copper.

I have used the Cabelas innerflows and like Tacklemaster worked well for mono and Fireline. Only problem is when the fleas get going they will clog up the tip and can prevent retreiving of line.

Ya, how bout those dang fleas! Not as bad this year as years past. I run them up to the tip, then slap the tip on the water with the rod parallel to the water, while keeping tension on the fish at the other end.

Have you ever tried cleaning the inside of the inner flow rods?

Pain in the you know what to get out when they get inside. Especially when wet. I use pipe cleaners and canned air when they dry and they come out pretty easy.

I'm interested in what you guys see as an advantage to the interflow style of rods? I've never used them, and have always thought they looks like a flea disaster waiting to happen.

So thoes of you who use them please share.

They have a different feel when fighting a fish. Smoother control is the best way I can describe it. I don't think it makes a difference getting a fish to the boat or not. I needed a few new rigger rods, so I tried them, and have stayed with them as I've needed new rods. I've had as many flea clogs, on non-inner flow rods, and don't think it's any more of a problem.

I tried the mono to firwire knot and it will not go thru without trouble, so it's either all mono or all firewire for the divers.

I think the biggest advantage is that there are no eyes to get your line wrapped around. One of the biggest negatives besides the fleas is trying to get braided line down the length of the rod. The inner flows come with a wire to assist in this but if it gets a kink in it they are useless. 20# mono goes through ok but 30# is better.
