Reading about Coz get some rods converted to roller rod - I thought I'd ask if anyone has done this. I have two browning silaflex 10' rods that aren't being utliized and thought I should convert it to aroller rod. Sounds fun - I think.

What does it take to remove the old eyes?
How do you connect AFTCO rollers to the rod?
Anything else I need to know about doing this - # of rollers, etc...

The rod tip can be removed with a small amount of heat to loosen the glue, and then reheat and push on the new tip, the guides should be able to be removed by using a xacto knife and removing the thread, I'd just put the new guides in the same spot as the old. A good quality thread, with a color fixer and some wrapping varnish. you should be good to go. Another site is Janns netcraft. I like to use the heavier threads. I have built a number of rods over the years and have also rewound a number also. If you have other questions I'll try and help.

I have a crap load of roller guides that I got from a friend who attended a fishing store closeout auction. They were cheap from him and could be cheap for you. Let me know if you are interested in any of these. Craig
