I made my own. It needs a better drag stack (more washers), but it works ok. Instead of trying to find a way to add power, I bought a couple of different drill bits that fit nearly any trolling reel handle you can think of.

I use a tennis ball, screw driver and vise. Drill hole thru tennis ball, insert screw driver, slide on spool of line and clamp in vise for tennsion preferred..Crank away.

Hmm, that reminds me, I still have your tennis ball, Reid. Guess you bought a new one by now!

Thats Ok Josh, I got spare balls.
Correction to the assembly instructions after I reread post..put spool of line on screwdriver, then tennis ball, then insert into vice with desired tension.
Thanks for the compliment Wing but credit is actually due to Coz as he enlightened me to this set up.

I may try to incorporate a ball or two into my homemade spooling station. The compression springs I have seem hard to work with. Get them tight enough and the whole assembly turns as a unit thereby coming unraveled.

Jim,if you have a transmission repair shop near you here is what I did. There is a deal called needle bearing thrust washers that is used in a lot of automatic transmissions.Put 1 one each side of the spool beyween 2 washers. It works great. My spooling station was made for me by my pal Green Machine. He had a bunch of old sewing machine moters and made a paddle to slip over the reel handle.Step on the peddle and away you go.The tennis ball thing is good too except it gets tiring fighting the dog and cat to get the ball.Maybe its time to get the dog a little exercise remember to tie the dipsey rod to the dogs collar before you throw the stick!

Thanks Coz! Is there no limit to your handiness? Well, other than your shortcomings with wood....
Like Red Green always says, If the girls don't find you handsome, make sure they find you handy. Poor pitiful me, I'm neither

Not a bad idea for a couple cheeseheads "eh" Jim? I had to think about it for a minute but thats a damn good idea. My wife is gonna be happy she don't have to hold the spools anymore. Craig

I've got a real expensive spool holder - it's called a wife.

2 big leather gloves and a screwdriver.
