Help me out if you would. I have the following reels I'm getting ready to spool up.

2 Daiwa 47SH (no counters)
5 Daiwa SG27LCs
4 Daiwa SG47LCs

I'm trying to assign these optimally and come up with the following setups:

2 SWRs
2 Mono Divers
2 Super Line Divers
2 20# mono riggers
2 30# mono riggers (fleas)
1 spare

Without buying another reel (or 6), how would you assign the above?

2 47sh non-counters for your swr, 2 sg27lc for your braid, 2 sg27lc for your 20 lb mono, 1 sg27lc for your back-up, 2 sg47lc for your mono divers and 2 sg47lc for your 30lb mono rigger reels.

Thats pretty much what I was thinking. Two thing concern me about using the 27's for braid dipsys. Do they have enough line capacity to handle screamers? (I'm planning on 30# Power Pro.) Are the drags beefy enough to prevent leaking line for this application? Anyone using the 27's for braid dipsys please chime in with your experiences.

we use the Tekota 500 lc's for our braid divers , not sure what the capacity is on the 27's but remember you can put a butt load of braid on even a small reel. I would recomend bulk spooling your reels with the braid, it may costa little more but having no knots and a whole spool full of braid is a very good thing.

Thanks ReelDealtoo.

My only concern is the potential of line leak now.

I would guess the drags would be fine, making sure you have a rod that can handle the surge of a bigger fish hitting would help so you can run the drags a little tighter. I don't know were you live but Tuna Tom can rebuild the reels drags for a very reasonable price. He is out of Ludington MI. He can even mail you the parts to do it your self. Just some idea's

i agree 100% with reeldeal. Maybe even on the spare 27, make it braid and if you need mono, splice in a piece, or you automatically have it for a good diver backup if you need it. And the braid wont rot over time if the reel sits in a hold for a couple years
No need to buy new reels at all!
