Can't give you a compare and contrast but I can say that Dipsey divers are a staple in our arsenal. The are very flexible, come in many sizes with many actions, as seem to produce well for us, except for this weekend LOL.

As a compliment to the Dipsay Diver I also run slide divers which give an additional level of flexibility in determining the leader length between the diver and the bait.

We run divers on braid and wire both of which have their days and slide divers on mono. Hopefully we will her from a Jet Diver user who also runs dipseys.

I do use Jets on Erie for walleye -- usually pulling Stinger Scorpions or blades w/ crawlers. Work well for this purpose since you don't have to get more than about 25' deep and the pull on the rod is not as much as a Dipsy so a regular rigger rod can be used.

One nice feature of the Jet is that it floats. Therefore to reset one in the spread you can let it out the back of the boat and then move it to the side and engage the reel. It won't dive through the other lines.

For salmon, I much prefer Dipsy and Slide Divers. They get deeper and handle much larger baits such as flashers and J-plugs. Dipsys are also directional while Jets are not and only trail straight back. If I want to create a spread with Jets the big boards come out.
