Just joined the site ...nice to see a few women fishers here.

My husband Alan & I fish out of Sodus Bay on Lake Ontario. We use the handle "AandM" on the boards and radio. We have a 21 foot bayliner trophy hardtop ...boat name is "IntuFition".

Last summer was our first year salmon/trout fishing and we had some great fishing and gained a lot of knowledge about trolling on the lake. Our biggest catch was a 29.5 lb king. We also entered our first tournament...the Fairhaven Challenge...and came a respectable 4th.

I'll admit that I haven't really learned all the technical side of this kind of fishing yet...Alan is the one who rigs everything...I mostly drive the boat while trolling and help landing the fish...(I also clean and cook the catch because he doesn't even eat fish!) But I absolutely love to be out on the water and enjoy the thrill of fishing for salmon. If we get autopilot this year, I will also get more involved in the techniques!

Glad to be involved in this site...look forward to getting to know the people here!

This is Carolyn...the other 1/2 of Big Papa Sports. Don't have much time online, but wanted to say Hi. Got started fishing when Bob & I got together & bought a boat. Turned out not to work for fishing so we traded it in the next year for a fishing boat & have been doing it ever since. I love to fish, but most of the time, I drive. No autopilot yet...ugh!! I get the most fishing when I take my boys out (23 & 15). Our biggest fish are 22 lb & 23 lb salmon. That was a couple of years ago & had a lot of fun bringing them in. The older one drove the boat while the younger one & I both reeled since he didn't have much experience. All were thrilled with the experience.

Have fished one ladies tournament & we did OK but not enough to place. I don't think we were in the right place, but since it wasn't my boat & the captain paid the entry fee, we went where he wanted. I did land all the fish I hooked up so I think I did my part. Hopefully next time we'll find more fish & get them to bite.

Better go now...have work to do. I'll try to check in occasionally & see what's up.

Welcome Carolyn - I met Bob at the GR show and I'm looking forward to meeting you. Why don't you register for your own ID, so you can track whats going on yourself.

Hi again everyone...
been awhile since I posted...

just wanted to let you know we're out on the water again...and with AUTO PILOT this year!! Carolyn...I had the same experience as you...driving the boat and not getting to do much fishing! This is the best addition you can make to your boat! It's wonderful.

Here's a picture of the 12 lb King I landed on Saturday...these fish really fight even when they're not that big!

I'll try to post more and hope other women will too! It's good to be fishing again!
