Fished with Duckdude again yesterday, this time plying the haunts of the Vermilion river...his old stomping grounds. Storms in the area in the morning kept us off the water until about 10:30am. We fished a 2 mile stretch of the river, trying many different things (spawn, spinners, flyrod) and the only method that showed any success was Chris and the flyrod.

He managed 5 fish and 2 suckers...I managed the big goose egg. What a beautiful day on the river though...and the scenery is just out of this world. Fish could be seen in the shallow ripples areas, up on the redds, spawning. Like Mike said, they were very spooky.

Thanks again Chris...and I'm looking into breathable waders today. Wow...74 degrees and 5mm neoprene walking 4 miles doesn't exactly work very well for a big guy!! LOL

hehehe would you be mad if i told you we took the long way around? hahaha j/k i'll get you back down there in the fall when the fish are in the deeper water. this time of the year its just nice taking in the scenery and watching the fish "do their thing" in the shallow.

p.s. nothing better than breathables this time of the year. especially when you buddy takes you on a 4 mile hike
