Cantgetenough took a day off work and we gassed up the boat and headed out around 8:30. Started the day running into 1-2'ers. Went out to Sputnik where I've been scratching up a few walleyes this week. Muddy water all the way out. Marked a few fish on a waypoint from the other day and set up there. Trolled up wind a while then back down. Caught a 14" 'eye on Mixed Veggies. By the time we ended our downwind troll, the wind had picked up and trolling back upwind wasn't going to be any fun as waves were 3-4' by now. Everybody looked to be perching and it didn't look much fun sitting on an anchor either.

We picked up gear and ran up to the area in front of Fermi. Water was clearer, but fair amount of floating weeds. We marked a lot of what I suspect were perch, more of them and bigger than the ones we marked near in the area we trolled by Sputnik. We set up a downwind troll towards Stoney Pt. No luch there either.

Picked up lines again and went into the N. end of Brest Bay. Lots of weeds, figures with the E wind. Didn't even fish in there as all the marks we saw were on the very small side.

We hemed and hawed about going out to WSI, and finally decided to check out the W side of Sputnik where we ran over a couple decent, widely spaced marks on our way to Fermi. Water was muddy at that area now and no marks.

We decided WSI would be in the game plan now and ran about 3/4 the way out but water was muddy as far as we could see and seas were still building with a fair number of 5's thrown into the mix. Turned around and headed back to the marina with and empty box Oh well, the company was good. I'm sure for Steve, the old saying held true yesterday--Bad day fishin' better than a good day at work.

You Betcha! It's true what they say, you don't know 'til you go! The whole lake got muddy by the afternoon. Everywhere; North, South, East and West. Looked like it will take a while to clean up also. I still had a great day and a great year Mike. Lots of good memories with you and the boys; BFG, Roamer, Lakatydid and all of the EAs. What a great bunch. Hopefully, we can still find a few more trips.
