huron trophy hunt 10/31 - 11/2

we fished the trophy hunt fri. sat. and sunday. it is not a tournament but a seminar that you fish at. we had a great weekend and highly recomend trying it. see details at walleye 101.com and click trophy hunt.
we had technical problems friday and only landed one fish that was about 4lbs. we bought inline boards fri. night and caught 9 fish sat. the biggest was 7-12 and next was a 6-8. little guy was around 3lbs. everything on reef runners 40'-60' behind the boards. we were fishing in 30'-40' of water and did our best troling with the wind. we marked fish everywhere but had a hard time staying on feeding fish. big fish at the seminar was 11-8, next was an 11-7 with about ten fish over 10lbs. there were about a hundred anglers in the group.accomadations were fantastic and we learned alot from lance valentine and the staff. also met a tourney pro from wisconsin who is a rep for slide diver. super nice guy who took alot of time to help us friday night.he deserves alot of credit for our success trolling cranks behind inline boards. also the first time we fished for walleye out of the new boat and never used inline boards.
we didn't get big fish honors or limit out but we did do better than all but one boat on sunday. it was rough(7 footers) and the big pro-line proved herself with seven fish. all the tournamrnt boats (18' alum.) were bouncing around pretty good and we put fish in the box and they didn't. i sure hope we can try it again, maybe the spring hunt and a fall hunt. check out that website, lots of info there too.

Good job, sounds like fun. I heard the bite was tough last weekend.

Pics can be added to the message, just look below the message space...select Image file to attach...there is a size requirement to the file.

Doug,

You can create a photo album here on the site and post pics from there, or you can do what I do and save the site bandwidth and load your pics into a photobucket account.

Once you've done that, just copy and paste the [img]pictitle[img/] link into the message field in your post.

Works great...and is simple once you've done it a few times. PM/email me if you have questions.

thanks, picture was sent. that is the only one of me on my camera. still waiting for the captain to send me the rest. that one is not the big boy but it is a nice 4 or 5 pounder.
