This thread discusses the Content article: Coast Guard withdraws live-fire training proposal

interesting. I wonder how the Coast Guard will train their people on live ammo in a boat if they cant do it here? Possible shipment of the troops to the ocean environment? Or no training at all. I wonder what will be said if they fail on a mission on the great lakes?
I am not exactly sure how to react to this. I had some reservations about the environmental impact of the lead bullets in the water, but feel the personell needs accurate training in case we need it.
After attending a meeting in Spring Lake, my questions were answered regarding public safety and felt that was a non issue after hearing the USCG plans on actual training times.
Hopefully we never need this particular service to the USCG.
