Aren't these the same things they found in Muskeon this fall too?

If they aren't the same species, they must be closely related. The good news...the perch in Muskegon seem to love these shrimp. I've heard reports of anglers taking perch that were full of shrimp.

I heard the same thing Tom. Only thing that worries me is they feed on the phytoplankton so they may be wiping out the base of the food chain. On the other hand, diaporia seem to be getting wiped out since the mussel invasion, so maybe these larger shrimp are going to take their place. They are very fatty from what I have heard, so they should be a good food source for the small predators out there, as long as they dont eat themselves out of house and home.

Let's hope that they help out with the Blue Bill population! God knows they need all they help that they can get. The decline of fresh water shrimp in the spring was one theory of the decline.
