Good thing there are no loons on the Maumee river...they'd all be dead. If they had asked the "how much small tackle do you lose in a day" question to the river fisherman, the collective answer would have been "probably 1/2# today or so."

I probably average losing 3 or 4 ounces per trip, and that is definitely on the lighter side of the average.
