This thread discusses the Content article: Changes made for walleye, bass seasons

The information in this article is confused. The limit on Michigan waters of Erie is 5 fish per day, 15" minimun length, year round. The restrictions from last year prohibiting fish in April and May were eliminated.

Ohio waters of Erie (Maumee, Sandusky, and Portage rivers, along with Maumee Bay) will once again have special restrictions. Single hooks-only with no more than 1/2" gap on the hook. The 15" size limit also applies, and anglers may keep 4 fish from March 1st to April 30th. May 1st until February 28th 2007, the limit shall be six fish per day, with the same length limits in place. Treble hooks are permitted from May 1st through February 28th.

For more info, check out the Michigan DNR webpage and the Ohio DNR webpage.

Hope this clears things up! I think the author became confused when trying to summarize the regs for both states at the same time. Regardless, it is great to be able to fish in the Michigan waters of Erie again in April and May.

And LET THOSE SMALLIES GO!!!!!!
