Anyone have thoughts on our Lighthouses? I for one love lighthouses. They are one of the things that is unique about our Great Lakes states, and specifically Michigan. I think generally the provatization has been good for them, as the Govern. Agencies don't seem to have the interest to make the budget avalible to care for them.

I was just reading the other day about the Huron Island light in Lake Superior was left for ruin by the Dept. of Fisheries and Wildlife, fortunatley a private group has stepped up and is helping to maintain the light now.

I know that monies are tight and budgets are shrinking, but these are important parts of our history, and they should be taken care of...
