The Saginaw Bay has been producing good numbers of walleye, perch, whitefish and an occasional Lake Trout. The targeted depth range seem to be 12 to 22 fow.The lure of choice by your's truly is a 3/8 ounce Buckshot rattle spoon[perch color],and a wide aray of spoons in the blue/silver in color. The technique is simple vertical jigging for these "tasty morsels"it does'nt get any easier.I tip my lure with a minnow head for those short biters or you could use a whole minnow with a stinger hook if you prefer. Those looking to venture out to try their luck for some of these excellent table fare, an ORV of some kind is recommended.Everybody has heard this saying "no ice is safe ice" but use caution when ice fishing any body of water. And always never go by yourself. The fishing usually is stable all the way through March but sometimes the ice is'nt.Always call ahead for fishing and ice reports.Good luck and good fishing. "Walleye the other white Meat" Ps Here's a couple of local place's to call ahead for fishing and ice conditions State Park Grocery phone#989-671-9510 and Hoyle's Marinaphone#989-697-4415.

Any body else fishing the "Bay" post a report and let us know how your doing.
