Does anyone besides me have a guy that they can ask questions about baits and such ? I know everyone here has good answers and some new ideas, but I have a friend who runs out of Sheboygan and he's my go-to guy. It goes something like " I have a stupid question ". Answer is " what else is new "

I have a couple, namely Fishmeister from Racine and Red Rider from Port Washington. These two guys have forgotten more than most trollers learn in a lifetime and they are always willing to help out a newbie or even a veteran.

I know who your guru really is Josh.

I really could have used one through the years but never really had one. Just bits and pieces from various sources.

I have found that generally most any salmon angler is generous with help. I think as we get wiser (????) we are better able to pick out good advice from marginal advice. Its all good to an extent, so don't ever think your aren't helping someone out with a friendly answer to their query. It all helps!!
Best,

Used to mate for a captain , learned a lot from him , I also like to fish with oher people and observe how they are doing things , it seems you can always pick up some thing along the way that you never thought of before or a different way of doing things. Keep your eyes open and your mouth shut and pay attention , " You can't learn what you think you already know".

I have a guy that has helped me a bunch ... and like FLATRATE says ... I will always jump on an opportunity to fish in his boat (I count for 3 more rods) and then I just watch and listen. I learn so much from him - I ask questions and he's very patient when I don't grasp the concept - which is often

I have a whole group that I was fortunate to get hooked up with that are kind when it comes to my "stupid questions".Now this group has grown to another website that in the last day and a half has gotten to be a favorite. My favorite sounding board is my friend Green Machine who is totally blind but one heckuva fisherman.Next has to be Red Rider that Josh also mentioned. But it is hard to beat the folks on this and the other website that I am addicted to.In 2 seasons of having my own boat on lake Michigan I feel that I went from a guy going out and stumbling around to a guy that has a plan and a arsenal of weapons that will put fish in the cooler any month of the year.Still cant drive the boat worth a darn but have a good idea what to do with all the stuff in it.
