Talked to two good fishing buddies last evening that were in the Maumee for a couple hours yesterday.

The fish have arrived. PM me for info or post up and I'll try to point you in the right direction. Peak of the run is usually the 2nd week of April, but there are fishable numbers now, and A LOT more will come..

Corey,

Assuming Paul doesn't have to totally tear my roof in half today, we should be down there (hopefully in the boat) late this afternoon.

Duckdude is going down there again today after work, probably around 5:30 or so. He's been whackin' 'em.

Fished below the rapids near Jerome Road. Took 9 eyes...all on 1/2 oz. egg sinker with floater. 36" inch leader with charteuse metal fleck 4" mister twister tail....fished for about 1.5 hours and had enough...

After I finished fixing BFG's chimney, we made it to the water with about an hour to fish on Friday. We managed 1 lonely eye, but a tasty one. That was the trial run and we were in our spot early on Saturday morning and had to wait for the opener for about 25 minutes. Clark chose spots well as his second cast he had a nice eye on the stringer. By 10:30 we had our 8 fish and managed to upgrade one and toss two more back. I proved to be the sucker tamer and caught my fair share of eyes as well for a rookie. Same presentation as what was described above. Watched several guys get wet heading back to shore after the water came up while they where fishing. That was kind of entertaining as well.
Had a great time and can't wait to get there again. All fish we caught were jacks.

It was great to have you down to fish Paul. I was a bit nervous after Friday evening about the next morning, but the Fish Gods were with us. Maybe we were graced with some good mojo for giving that guy a ride back to his truck on Friday night. I was duly impressed at your ability to knock the learning curve down to nothing in short order. That type of fishing can take some acclamation. Well done my friend. Hope you enjoy the fish, and come back anytime.

Best line of the weekend from Salmonhead...

LMAO

Oh...and thanks for fixing my roof and re-affirming my fear of heights.
