The latest on the effort to have a fish cleaning station constructed on Harbor Island:
The Grand Haven City Council voted to allocate $5000 for an engineering study on the feasibility and cost of constructing and operating a fish cleaning station on Harbor Island. (THANK YOU to the council members!).
Roger Belter and Chuck Pistis (MSUE - Sea Grant) have been meeting with city staff and the engineers. We should have more information from the engineer in mid-April.
If the study shows that the cleaning station can be constructed, it will be time for all of us to begin working together to secure funding for the project. If you are interested is assisting in any way, contact Mary Jane Belter, secretary, Grand Haven Steelheaders, at mjbelter@altelco.net.
