Spent Thur. thru Sat. on the Detroit river. Prefishing for two days then the WMWC tourny on Sat. Came in third with 19.72 lbs. We were limited to Mich. waters and river only. Fun time but I am relieved to no longer being intimate with the Trenton channel bottom.

Heading to the lake from now on. Should have gone today but had commitments. Sounds like the weather will be okay for tomorrow so I am going to do the Cicada jig. Something new for me so should be interesting. Surely can't be as bad picking up an occasional zebra compared to the bottom of the river! Presuming the area between Turtle island, Toledo lighthouse and the dumping grounds is the place to be in? Hope to see some of you out there.

Nice job, Al! I know it is very difficult to go fish a new stretch of water in a tournament...and you should be very proud of your results. Keep it up!

Tom

Very nice work!! Tough to fish unfamiliar water and then still be able to come up with a strong showing in a tournament!

All of the areas you have mentioned have been producing on Erie...particularly the Lighthouse area, over the last week. Things will only continue to improve, although this rain we are having today will bring the Maumee up and cloud the water in that area to some extent.

BTW...welcome to the site.

I hate to say this but my neighbor didn't want to fish in the rain, my wife said it was too damp and cold for her and I decided I didn't want to fish alone so the trip was cancelled. Washed our hunting trailer instead. Bummer. Maybe this weekend. Guess I will go sit in the patio with my fishing rod and watch it rain.

By the way, thanks guys. It makes you want to come back and do it again when things work out well. I am happy just being able to get out there and do it.
