Went out with the work crew early ths week. We went midday on a flat lake, blue sky day. Caught only undersized walleye, sheep, silverbass and white perch.
Left dock at 11:30 a.m. Went to dumping grounds, no boats and marked nothing. Went to McDs and Sputnik. No boats and marked no fish. Went to the turnaround buoy and found pack of 200 boats about 1 mile north and 1 mile east of buoy. 90% were perch fishing. Very few trollers. Fished there 1 1/2 hours. Marked nothing. Caught nothing. Went to west sister. Marked very little and caught silver bass. Drove to Stony point in Ohio and drove to 22 ft. near point. Marked a few fish and caught undersized walleye and sheep. Marked a ton of fish in 24 ft. at the end of the raisin channel but nothing bit. Wanted to try the coener on the way in but crew was disheartened and wanted to go. We did. We trolled discs and spoons. There was only one charter boat at the fish cleaning station. He had between 15 and 20 walleye. He said he got them about 4 - 5 miles east of West sister. About halfway to east sister. Wow, that's a 22 - 23 mile run for 15 fish. Probably better to try the swamp for a couple or perch fish right now. I'm going to try a couple more times this holiday.

Steve,

I've heard some guy getting them NE of Mc Donalds (1-2 miles) and that is where I was going to start tomorrow morning. They were fishing reef runners or BB's but I can't beleive they wouldn't hit spoons. I'll let you know how I do.
