Made it out yesterday late afternoon and got in a little less than an hour fishing before we had to pull lines and run from a storm. No walleye to report. We milled around out by Sputnik for a while and marked a few fish while waiting for the storm to move through. The rods were crackling in the holders so we pulled them in and stowed them away. With VHF weather broadcast indicating more storms in the area, when boat radar showed a window of opportunity, be bailed out and headed in to the marina. At least the trip in wasn't bad. Two weeks ago the same thing happened and we had 6-7' waves to deal with. Thats two of my last three trips cut short by storms.

Mike,

We continued to fish where we saw you last night until 8:30 and all we could manage was 1 keeper. We must have caught 20 8 – 10 inchers that looked like little footballs. Our graph was loaded at times with fish and large balls of bait fish. The wind did pick a bit to make it a bumpy ride back.

By two friends were on the boat last night at E buoy. They caught one walleye on the first cast. Fished for 20 minutes and went in because of the storms. Will post next time out.

I became co-owner of 22ft CC Hydrasport in 2007. Docked at Otter Creek Marina between Toledo Beach and Bolles Harbor. Have fished Brest Bay in the past from my Lund 1650 Angler. Learning more of the Big lake this year.

That was a little crazy last night. Thanks for keeping us safe Capy. From the talk on the boat last night I dont think I should have invited Clark to Frankfort. He will just bring bad weather with him. Just kidding.

Cant wait to try again

Roy

Spoonman - I like what I'm hearing in reports & seeing first hand about the numbers of 8-10" 'eyes being caught this year. I'm also hearing a lot of 14" class as well. Perhaps spawns of the last few years haven't been quite as bad as estimated.

As long as we don't fish on a Thursday night...we should be good Roy.

I've had the same bad luck the past couple of Thursdays as well. I haven't seen the 14" class yet but the last 2 trips I must of caught close to 40 of the 8" class. The ones we caught last night sure have been eating good and they were inhaling the spoons. I have been hearing the school at Holiday beach is moving into deeper waters now. A buddy of mine's friend was out yesterday and got a 3 man limit in 2 hours in 27 FOW with many big fish (+6lbs). That's got to put him close to MSI. Good luck tomorrow with the fry tournament and let me know how you guys do. I'm heading out on Sunday morning.

Yeah Roy, It's just been Thursdays and Fridays too! We were doing good on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays weather wise.
