Drove up to Arcadia Wednesday night with fellow EA member LAKatydid (Keith) where we were staying with some friends. Cold front coming through. Keith and I launched in Arcadia 6:00 a.m. and fished the Arcadia shelf with about 20 other boats. Temp. in the forties and high of 68 degrees. South winds about 10 - 15 mph and waves of 1 - 3 ft. No hits and didn't see any fish boated in Arcadia. Marked nothing. Drove to the Herring hole south of Frankfort about 8:00 a.m. Half dozen boats there. Marked nothing. Saw nothing boated. We drove into Frankfort harbor around 11:00 a.m. Marked tons of huge fish. The fish were leaping out of the water. We made several trolls and saw only two fish caught from the piers on spawn. Hundreds of boats everywhere. Major Cluster. It was a Thursday! We boated to the Tackle Box in Frankfort and commented that we hadn't heard that the fish were so heavily in the river. They told us that the fish had been coming in the river for over two weeks. The cold front a day before had triggered another huge run and there were not a lot of four year old fish left in the lake. Try the shelf just outside the harbor or the harbor they told us. Hmmmm.
