Saturday morning we launched in Manistee again. 3 man crew. The weather was warming. Hopefully the fishing would also. High temp was upper 70s. We were 2 - 3 with 1 4lb. coho and a 4lb. jack king. Moonshine yellowtail and Moonshine perch. We fished outside the nets from 150 to 200 at 90 ft. down and 80 - 100 ft. back. We were also hearing reports of some fish being caught. We had a bat land on the boat about 9:30 a.m. and it was about 3-4 miles out and tired. We were able to pet it and touch it. It was dead tired from flying around out there. It must've been on someone's boat and rode out to deep water where it took off and got tired and landed on our boat. When we got to the boat launch at 1:00, we woke it up and it flew off. Everyone was saying we should be called the batboat. Maybe change our handle. I don't think so. We were the only boat that probably came in with bat. Anybody know the limit? We had some friends who went 3 of 4 and another group who went 2 of 5. Mostly spoons and a couple Jplugs. Less boats out which was strange because it now was the holiday weekend. The group of friends fishing the Manistee pier caught a couple casting with Cleos. Things were looking a little better.
