A couple weeks ago I had sent my roller rod in to shimano for worn guides. On the tip top guide the stainless plates had grooves cut in it and it had really did a number on my wire lost a dipsey and dodger fly combo as a result. So I get home from work tonite and there is a tube that came ups from them.I open it up and admiring the brand new rod see the tiptop guide is missing the platesWTF,I dont think the plastic will tkae even one fish and it would be cut.Any one haviing these problems with warranty work from shimano or is it just a continuation of my shitty month?

I haven't had a problem with Shimano warranty - but I do need to send a rod in to get replaced. Shimano repaired all of our Tekota reels - and they seem to be holding up so far.

I'll let you know how the ro replacement goes - 9.5' TDR shattered just below where the two pieces went together.

That sucks john.
The only thing I can say is make sure that the rod is in holder so thet the wire runs straightout of the tip top, spose you know that tho

Just heard back from Shimano and I had asked if I could pay a fee to upgrade to the new swivel tip rod and they are just doing it no charge.I think when I called out yesterday and was Bitc... bout being without my rod for a month they thought I needed to be passified.LOL

Still dont have a rod. Also my freind Terry got a 700 Tekota for christmas used it a few times clicker died.Got new reel from Marine general on the 2nd trip clicker took a dive. Now I can believe that the first reel was a carryover from the old stock but the 2nd reel was delivered last week. With all the new stuff to be purchased soon it is hard to think that I should be buying a lot of shimano product.I had a bunch of the Talora rods with no issues but the problems with the roller rod.
