As spring gives way to summer crayfish move to a nocturnal (night) pattern and pretty much stay put during the day.??Bass transition to the panfish (sunfish, bluegill, etc.) for food when they crayfish start to hide.? Moving into the fall season the shad and similar varities become the prevalent source of food.? Using this knowledge you can narrow down your color selections and work both sides of the seasonal spectrum.

  • spring - crayfish colors
  • summer - panifsh colors
  • fall - shad colors

Season all plays a big role based on temperature.? Bass process food mreo actively when the water is warmer.? Bass burn more calories when the water warms which mean that they digest food more quickly.? Quicker digestion means more food which triggers a more aggresive predator?translating into more strikes.

Conclusion

Blending colors based on the season and visibility?adds a dimension to any bass angler's presentation.? This additonal versatility should help us all determine a pattern that works any time of year on any water.
