Green Bay Press-Gazatte
Anglers across Wisconsin continue to have excellent luck fishing, despite the hot weather.

Techniques have changed to pursue fish in deeper water, or low-light conditions, such as early mornings or dusk. Entries in the Gannett Wisconsin Newspapers Master Angler fishing contest continue to roll in.

Chris Reinke of Appleton was throwing a purple lizard in Waushara County when he boated a 22-inch largemouth bass that bass weighed 5 pounds, 4 ounces at The Sportsman.

Matt Zastrow of Wausau caught a 38-inch chinook salmon while fishing near Algoma. The fish hit a trolling spoon and weighed 28 pounds, 2 ounces at Bob?s Bait and Tackle in Green Bay.

Two Rivers was a hot spot for Rob Cummings of Hilbert. He was using a J-plug when a 10-pound rainbow hit the lure.

The contest runs through Sept. 30.
