Educated Angler was contacted by Chip from RidgeBack Rattler to see if we would be interested in checking out his downrigger weight system.? Chip has an interesting product that brings life and utility to your downrigger weight.? The Ridgeback Rattler seems to address many things a trolling fisherman would want:

• reduced blowback
• noise generation with the rattlers
• Vortex behind the weight to disturb the water
• visual stimulation w/ glow beads and "nose bleed" color schemes

Being late in the season?we won't?get an opportunity to run these weights, Chip does have some boats in the Ludington area running them, we know?a couple of the guys.? So as the first part of the evaluation we will be stopping by to get some product feedback from these boats to see how the weights are working for them.

Then as the season begins again in the mid-April timeframe?Educated Angler?will take these untis out on our team boat and beat them up.? We will run them and evaluate them as scientifically as we can by running them against our current spread of Tru-Trak downrigger weights.? We will match the setups on both sides of the boats.? This is a key component of what Edcuated Angler will be - independently evaluating products - we will not accept any money from product manufacturers.? Only those products and companies?that meet muster with the Educated Angler community will get banner ad opportunties.
