A 47-year-old Hastings male was driving a 1987 19 1/2-foot inboard pleasure boat at 11:17 p.m. Friday when he struck the breakwall, the report stated. He was arrested and charged with operating a boat while intoxicated.

The boat apparently struck the breakwall, but did not sustain substantial damage, according to the report. The boat was able to motor in to the Loomis Street boat launch, where the man was arrested.

Ludington Police, with the assistance of the U.S. Coast Guard, located the boat and the man at the launch. He was off of the boat, but admitted to being the driver when the boat struck the breakwall.

He was lodged in Mason County Jail and is expected to be arraigned today.
